Reanimating Playbooks: Editing for Performance, Performance for Editing
Symposium: Friday 10 May 2013
The Shakespeare Institute
WHAT: The Shakespeare Institute presents a one-day symposium to engage in the conversation between performance and text. We wish to provide a space to explore editorial practices on both sides of publication (from preparation to practice) and to explore how we use, compose, and conceptualise critical editions of Renaissance plays. The day is a mix of papers, provocations, and performance workshops, and we hope you’ll join us!
WHEN: 11am-5:30pm, Friday 10 May.
WHO: Plenary speakers include John Jowett (Shakespeare Institute), Marion O’Connor (Kent), and Barbara Ravelhofer (Durham).
The day will also feature papers from Brett D. Hirsch (Western Australia), Joanna Howe (Bath Spa), Stephen Purcell (Warwick), and Pip Willcox (Bodleian Libraries, Oxford), and workshops led by Yasmin Arshad (UCL), Cassie Ash (Shakespeare Institute), and José Pérez Díez (Shakespeare Institute).
HOW: Registration fee is £5, lunch and refreshments included: http://tinyurl.com/cmhru4v
Questions may be addressed directly to José (email@example.com), and you can find more information on the Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/ReanimatingPlaybooks).
